EcoHealth 2016 Art Competition
[30 November 2015] EcoHealth proudly announces our 4th Biennial Art Competition! To coincide with the EcoHealth 2016 Conference, this year's competition is open to submission until 1 February 2016Submission guidelines are now available! Webinar: Ecohealth and One Health
[30 November 2015] The International Association for Ecology and Health is pleased to announce its first webinar on Ecohealth and One Health which will be held Monday, December 14th. Interest and participation in Ecohealth and One Health approaches have grown considerably over the past decade. The two approaches have many similarities and strive for similar outcomes. Drawing on expertise from the IAEH Board of Directors, this webinar will discuss the origin and application of these two concepts, using case examples. Reasons for this renewed interest in inter- and transdisciplinary approaches and the opportunities this provides for professionals interested in social-ecological interactions and their links to human and animal health will be discussed.

New Course, Climate Change Policy and Public Health
[5 November 2015] The University of Wisconsin - Madison will hold a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Climate Change Policy and Public Health from 9 November 2015 - 7 December 2015. Taught by past IAEH president Professor Jonathan Patz, the MOOC explores the impact of human activities on climate change and consequently public health, as well as the many real benefits to climate change mitigation. Participants will discover the multiple benefits – or co-benefits – provided by public policies and initiatives to reduce emissions. Interventions Course, MVetSci Conservation Medicine
[21 September 2015] As a part of continuing initiatives to increase the capacity of wildlife health professionals in developing bio-diverse countries, ZSL will be running a field course jointly with The Wildlife Institute of India and The University of Edinburgh from 2016. The course will be an integral component of the MVetSci in Conservation Medicine from the University of Edinburgh, which is a distance learning programme for wildlife veterinarians and will be held in India and/or Nepal. Preference will be given to applicants from South Asia. The field course will be titled 'Interventions in Wild Animal Health' and will provide training in resolving human-wildlife conflict, population monitoring of wild animals, chemical restraint techniq ues, and wildlife disease detection and surveillance. EcoHealth in the News
[10 August 2015] The Zoological Society of London's Institute of Zoology has published a press release about a recent paper that was published in EcoHealth. The human sore throat pathogen was found to be the cause of death in a hedgehog and the discovery is the first known report of the pathogen in a hedgehog, and in any free-living wild animal. [30 March 2015] The EcoHealth 2014 conference won the prize in the category “Socio-economic commitment / Corporate events, conferences, conventions, exhibitions" during the Vivats Contest, which recognizes best practices in sustainable events. ZSL Symposium - Health and Disease in Translocated Wild Animals
[5 March 2015] On May 14-15, the Zoological Society of London will host a two-day symposium to review the impact of disease on species restoration through translocation, and consider lessons learned to guide effective planning and implementation of future translocation projects. Health management of conservation interventions will be discussed, including methods of disease-risk analysis, evaluation of disease management alternatives, use of molecular tools to unravel disease risks, mitigation of diseases and methods for post-release health monitoring. Congratulations to Professor Moses Chimbari
[15 December 2014] Professor Moses Chimbari won the IAEH proposal for the small grants competition. His proposal was to modify existing instructional material from a postgraduate course given by the Network for Ecohealth Researchers and Practitioners in East and Southern Africa into a set of modules that will be freely available on-line to students in the region to facilitate self-learning.
